Description
These trousers are a reproduction of what the US Army and Air Force enlisted wore during the Second World War. Although strange to us today, these trousers were used both on base and in the field. Early versions were much more form fitting which might have looked smart, but lead to non stop complaints from soldiers (later on they made them wider after many blown crotches).
The originals were usually around 80% wool where as these ones are 20% wool - maybe not the most 'accurate' but these don't have that 'itchy' sensation a majority wool garment have. The trousers were designed to be held up with a belt (and no, the Army didn't see the need for suspenders) and have 5cm belt loops lining the top. Flanked by generous sized waist slash pockets and on the rear, these still have some utility despite their formal appearance.
An essential bit of clothing for anyone doing a WW2 USGI impression whether it be for reenactments, airsoft players or period film productions. Dress to kill with a pair of these M1937 trousers!
