Description

These coveralls are what Swiss tank crews used for decades. Apart from the oversight of not being fire resistant - these coveralls otherwise are really well thought out. Pockets of all the right sizes exactly where you need them. The chest & thigh pockets really utilize the entire space and open on a angle that's convenient when hunched into a small space. At the back of the neck there is a zippered slit which reveals a heavily reinforced drag handle that runs all the way down to the inner thighs. Quite handy if you become stuck and have a buddy to yank you out! Getting in/out of these coveralls is made a lot easier with zippered splits in the cuffs & ankles.

Overall a really well thought out pair of military coveralls so long as you don't plan on spontaneously combusting!

Superb coverall, camo looks a lot better in person

This is a really quality item. The Alpenflage pattern looks very loud in photos, but the one I received appears a fair bit darker and more coherent in person. I’m ~185cm tall with a ~91cm chest, and the 92cm small size fits perfectly on me with very little restriction of mobility, although the drag handle does dig into my shoulder blades slightly unless I am sitting/standing up straight. Some standout features: Pockets are plentiful and deep, zips are all very sturdy and there are zips on the arms and legs so you can roll them up more easily, the collar can close up all the way to cover the neck… it very much satisfies my obsession with utility in clothing. I’m not sure when these were discontinued (early 90s?) or exactly what year mine was made, but the condition is pristine with no defects. Anyways, overall I couldn’t be happier with this, 10/10.

    Great bit of Swiss clothing

I've bought 3 of these now so suffice to say I like them a lot. I was a little dubious about buying the small size (the only remaining size at time of writing) because the garment measurements are smaller than my actual body measurements, but actually it is a near perfect fit.

I have almost nothing bad to say about them. They should cost more than they do. Brilliantly practical coverall despite how garish they are (which is a matter of taste ultimately). The pockets are huge and the zippers are nice and tough.

The only thing I don't like is the pull strap (visible in product photos). It's stiff and it runs from the arse all the way to the neck (with a zip for your mates to access the handle and drag you around I guess). Considering I'll never need to be dragged out of a tank by my neck I have no use for this feature and it only diminishes comfort unfortunately. Maybe it will soften up with time.

I still rate it 5 stars and think it's a great addition to any Swiss army surplus collection, or just if you need a nice and hardwearing set of overalls. I'd buy the rest of the stock honestly but I have to draw the line of excess somewhere.
