Description

*Note* These bags may vary in colour due to heavy use or dirt build up. Some may have unit identification paint - see 7th photo for an example. Also available are packs with no side pouches, see last two images for an example

The British army infantry used these PLCE (Personal Load Carrying Equipment) packs, or bergans, as their main source for carrying equipment. They were put to great use, until they were replaced by the current British systems. Although these packs have seen their fair share of combat and my be a bit faded, they still function fantastically. Tough and sturdy are understatements when referring to this bit of gear.

If you plan on going hiking, then this bag would be a great companion. Large enough to hold all your travelling, cooking and eating utensils. It won't loose its form either, as it has a sturdy, internal frame. As the Short version is designed for people under 173cm tall, the Long is for those 173cm+ in height. This will also make a great bag for hunters, as it's packed to the brim with useful pockets and features. The main section will fit your weapons and hunting accessories, while the pouches store any other food or equipment you have.

After using it for a while

I have now done nearly a year with my pack and can, with confidence, say it was worth every cent. Looking to buy another pack fro one of my kids so back on this site. Its been down south, up to the Pilbara and about to do another leg of the Bibblumun when the weather gets a little cooler.

You take a risk with anything second hand but there was only wear and tear, no zip/buckle failures, just mild abrasion marks.

It’s alright

Back should be labelled grade 2, other than that it does get the job done and I’m very happy with it. Should show the stitches 🧵 and repairs in the photos as not to mislead but it does still function good.

The last pack you'll ever own!

As of April 2023, I've had mine for 6 months. It hasn't failed me yet, and I doubt it ever will. The British army bergen is tougher than concrete, the cross-stitching on the pack is the same used to secure truckloads to flatbeds. The side pouch patrol bag is a very useful feature. If you're lucky, you may even get more than you bargained for! I got 2 cyalumes and some handwarmers as a bonus. Just note that if you are ordering your pack to be shipped internationally, it may or may not come with an internal frame. In all, a beyond-superb pack for the princely $140 aud I paid for it. Thank you A&O.

Tough packs.

Pack arrived in good condition no broken bits just a few scuff marks as to be expected. Only thing i didn't realize is there is a short and long version i got shot version which is for people under 6 foot. Im 6 foot think long may be a better fit. Ill just get straps modified abit. Very tough will outlasts me🤣

A pack of suprises

Just recieved the pack today. When I first opened the main area I was suprised; I looked inside to find a DPM yoke and two PLCE pouches it. I honestly didn't expect to get the side pouches, but it was very nice to get it with the pack. The condition is alright, considering it probaby has seen some action. One of the zips is busted but is still useable. Overall, I am very happy with the pack; and I look forward to be seeing what it's capable of. Great work team!
