The Germans seem to have set a standard as their southern Austrian counterpart have copied their successful design. The mess kit breaks down into 3 parts and with a convenient carrying handle. Another similar sized tin slots into the large main section providing 3 different vessels for cooking. Can't go past a successful robust military design, ideal for campers eating out in the wild.

Really damaged and dented. Paint coming off. Much more used and damaged than I had hoped. Handle bent and completely loose. Tab where handle fits is bent and will have to be straightened with pliers. I was excited when ordering because I assumed this Austrian version would be in better shape than the ones from the former Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact nations. Basically unfit to be used and will just be a display item.
