Description
At the end of World War 2 Germany was split between the West and the East. The East became the German Democratic Republic under the Soviet Union. East Germany was to come up with their own uniform with a scent of Soviet influence. These badges were designed specifically to be worn on caps or Ushanka's. They sport the East German hammer and compass symbol surrounded by the German tricolour and wreath.
These genuine surplus badges would make a great collectors piece of the Cold War era.
