Description

Wolseley pith helmets became the designated sun hat of the British Army in the late 19th century to the mid 20th century. It was described as the "Wolseley pattern cork helmet". The large, swept-back brim provides great protection from sun and rain.

The Wolseley pith helmet is made from the cork, or pith, of trees from northern Vietnam using techniques developed 100 years ago by the French during their occupation. The helmet is functional in both sunny and rainy weather. Adjustments to the size can be made with the interior hook and loop strap and chin strap. An iconic look and a stand-out sight to see these days.

Perfect fit

I recently bought one, I tested it out the same day. I mowed in the hot sun for 2 and a half hours. The hat kept my head cooler than any of my hats that I have ever worn. Will be getting another for my brother and myself very soon.

SUPERB AND VERSATILE SUN HAT

The Worsley pith helmet is a fantastic sun hat. It is deep with a broad brim and shades most of your face and back of your neck. It also offers a respectable amount of head protection. The helmet is very light and comfortable and is a durable, quality product made in Vietnam where these hats originate.

Unlike many pith helmets, these are made from a type of tree pith covered with cloth, rather than the usual polystyrene, and are hard to fault for the price.

As well as being practical hats/head protection, they have a neat colonial/retro style to them. I purchased several as gifts/for an event but was impressed enough I decided to keep one for myself.
