Description
The national flag of Eritrea was adopted in 1995 and bears close resemblance to the Eritrean People's Liberation Front. The flag sports a red triangle as a nod to those who lost their lives fighting for independence. The upper green triangle stands for the agriculture of the country and the blue for the sea (and was also a nod to the UN for helping find a resolution to gaining independence). The wreath being a symbol for peace has thirty leaves - one for every year of how long the civil war took.
The flag has a white strip on the side with two metal eyelets.
