Description
The German Heckler & Koch G3 rifle has been around for a while (developed in the 1950's) and many countries have adopted it into their arms. Accompanying this global adoption of the G3 comes with varying global accessories, such as the bayonet. Most G3 bayonets have a blade shaped much like the M4 bayonet but other places, like Pakistan, had their own ideas (a damned aesthetic one). Somewhat unusual amongst battle rifles, mounting a G3 bayonet sits on top of the barrel (rather than under it). Better keep those pointy things safe when not fixed, or why not add this to an eclectic collection; a G3 bayonet scabbard. Obviously (and unfortunately) without the bayonet itself.
This scabbard is for the more widely adopted M4 style blade type (excessive dimensions listed below). It has a US M1910 style wire belt hanger to the top and dome stud straps for an integrated fastening, keeping the blade with the scabbard. The olive drab handle end is constructed from heavy cotton canvas. The scabbard sheath itself is a black plastic body, tapered tip, with metal guards and components. Maybe you have a G3 bayonet. Maybe you collect H&K, or bayonet scabbards. Maybe you want a well built contraption to place your favourite butter knife, who knows - check the dimensions first. But this is the real McCoy and if you like the G3, snap one up and no ''FIIIX BAYONETTTTTTT!''.
