Not only is this sturdy one quart (~0.946 L) US olive canteen handy for transporting water, the top to these is a M1 Nuclear, Biological, Chemical (NBC) cap! These caps are sealed, valved and couple with a drinking hose attachment on NATO standard military gas masks. So no need to decontaminate for a sip, simply flip open the valve covering and slot on in to your handy canteen. The whole cap also fits on other NATO standard 28mm military canteens - if you happen to be extra thirsty and need to transfer the cap to your two quart. Maybe you don't need to wear your gas mask and have no need for the adapter? No problem! The valve cap ensemble unscrews as a lid and voila, canteen contents access.
