For a non kiwi, that basically means these are a bit worse for wear. These pants are in their twilight years, though a lot of them have light damage as far as our Grade 2 system goes. You might end up with a total score [good one] but these will have some battle damage that limits their function.
Hotter than a fresh batch of kumara chips, New Zealand DPM (Disruptive Pattern Material) trousers! Though introduced earlier, this round of NZDPM spans from the 90's onwards. And man, they are rowdy - some are like British tropical DPM with bright froggy greens, some are more subdued like Dutch with rich earthy tones. Some are straight up like banana yellow from age and manufacture. Glorious. These trousers are precursor or alternatives to the ripstop versions. With the adoption of MCU in 2013, NZDPM was set to retire, so these are becoming fairly collectable for niche camouflage connoisseurs and people that love a bit of Aotearoa history.
These trousers have drawstrings around the interior of the waist allow you to get a tight fit while keeping the strings out of the way. Two slash pockets and two cargo pockets give the wearer ample storage. Ankle drawstrings allow a tight fit over your boots to keep out the elements and pesky bugs. Massive 9cm (3.5inch) belt loops are great for a wide range of belts. Manufactured in New Zealand and becoming harder to find, for a small country we sure did love print and manufacturer variations. Like our other batches of NZ camo, these are a NZDPM rainbow - from the modern darker tones to brighter tropical. Some are a bit faded and full of character.
