Description
Palau adopted their flag in 1981 when the island separated from the UN Trust Territory. In the same year Palau became a republic. The main blue area like a lot of other Pacific island nations represents the ocean. Unusual though is the yellow circle - it is supposed to represent the moon, not the sun.
The flag has a white strip on the side with two metal eyelets.
