Description
Iceland adopted their current national flag in 1944, the day Iceland became a republic. The colours represent the three elements of the island. Blue is for the mountains of Iceland, white represents the ice and snow that covers the land. And red is the fire of produced by the island's volcanoes.
The flag has a white strip on the side with two metal eyelets.
