Description
Here we have a reproduction of the modern Bundeswehr's (German Army) dog tag. The only notable difference is the current versions have 'DEU' stamped instead of 'GE.' This oval design dates back to the First World War and is still in use today.
Both top & bottom details mirror each other as it is designed to be snapped into 2 pieces - one for the morgue/corpse identification, the other for notification. The top has a long ball chain to wear around the neck and the bottom has a small ball chain for either attaching to a toe or adding other tags together.
Definitely a distinct dog tag design, grab one of these for your German military collection - or in preparation for the day you hope never comes!
