*Note* Some boots do not have all hobnails present and many boots show rusting. Some boots have pebble grain leather uppers and some have residue to the top edge. These will be picked at random.
Crusty crunchies, anyone? Thick leather, toe & heel irons plus hobnails - these boots were made for durability over comfort. ''Ammo/Ammunition Boots'' have been around since the 1860s and get their name from being obtained from the Royal Arsenal establishment (instead of the British Army HQ), though the name covers many different patterned boots.
Some of these have the oldschool pebble grain ankle leather and most of them are very well used, even though these seem like a modern manufacture. Regardless, these would make ideal reenactment boots, or perhaps very punishing tap dance shoes. Most of these have, or used to have (some are missing) 13 hobnails to the sole and metal inserts to the toes and heels - making these quite heavy wee boots. With 6 eyelets, they sit up to the ankles and those with once hard earned, fine, high polish has it scattered and worn down into patches here and there.
